Permanent Representative of Equatorial Guinea to ICAO

Ambassador Esono Anguesomo is a former Senior Officer in the United Nations and has worked in Administration and Human Resources offices within United Nations System for 30 years. In 2014, Ambassador Esono, also a Senior Officer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was appointed Permanent Representative of Equatorial Guinea to ICAO. As elected member of the ICAO Council, in 2019, to represent Equatorial Guinea and the 11 rotating Member States of Central Africa, he served as 3rd (2019-2020) and 2nd (2021-2022) Vice-President of the ICAO Council, former Chairperson of the Air Transport Committee (ATC), Chairperson the Council Aviation Recovery Task Force (CART) and the Committee of Governance (COG). His relevant experience in diplomacy and intergovernmental organizations make Ambassador Esono an asset to the international civil aviation.

Ambassador Esono is a member of the Equatorial Guinea Diplomatic Corps and Member of the College of Masters and Doctors of Pure Philosophy and Private/Public International Law. He holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and Private/Public International Law from Complutense University, Madrid.
